Are you always thinking about how to recycle better? Do you help your neighbours to learn about the green bin? Passionate about the environment?
Then this tour is for you. The City of Adelaide community centres are partnering with KESAB for City and North Adelaide residents to take a ‘Circular Economy’ recycling and waste bus tour.
Find out how a circular economy works. Go behind the scenes to see how SA business is ‘closing the loop’ in a self-sustaining system driven by renewable energy and the drive to keep material resources in use or 'circulating' for as long as possible. This tour expands on previous recycling tours.
Hear how plastics become furniture, what happens to your 10 cent bottles and cans, how non-recoverable demolition and construction waste becomes fuel, how e-waste is recycled and more.
The tour will acknowledge the three-bin system the City of Adelaide uses.
Note: This tour contains stairs and walking through tight areas. Bring your lunch (nude food - all rubbish is taken home), wear comfortable clothing with sneakers/shoes for easy movement and drinking water.
