Join experts for a series of free guided tours through diverse pockets of the Adelaide Park Lands. Horticulture and biodiversity experts from the City of Adelaide will lead small groups to discover and learn about the treasures of our city’s backyard until October 15.


Explore rose gardens and serene spaces

Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka
Thursday 1 October, 10:00 am to 11:30 am

  • Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and join Holly for a wander through Rymill Park exploring beautiful rose gardens and lake - complete with ducks. This walk is part of the Nature Festival.


Discover nature, art and architecture along the river

River Torrens / Karrawirra Parri
Thursday 8 October, 10:00 am to 11:30 am

  • Soak up sweeping views across the River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari while you connect with flora or fauna on a tour of the North and South Bank guided by Michelle.


Explore a landscape of gardens

Veale Gardens in Golden Wattle Park / Mirnu Wirra
Thursday 15 October, 10:00 am to 11:30 am

  • Be led by Anthony through the lush green lawns, semi-formal landscaped areas, sunken gardens and rock pools of Veale Gardens.


Bookings are essential. We encourage you to book a spot on each tour!

Where to meet and what to wear

Please meet at the start locations at 9:45 am ready for a 10:00 am start. More information about the tours and locations are included in the ticketing information.

Please wear flat, closed toe shoes (i.e. sneakers) and clothes that are suitable for weather conditions on the day (i.e. a hat, sunglasses and cool, long sleeve tops for hot temperatures). Apply sunscreen beforehand and bring along a water bottle. Please note: most tours will take place on sealed pathways and grassed areas however the the Bunyip Trail has unsealed dirt pathways. COVID

If there is an increased risk of COVID-19 community transmission the event will be cancelled as well. The City of Adelaide is also taking extra measures to protect our community, volunteers and staff, including the following conditions:

1. Do not attend the event if you or someone with you are unwell or are developing symptoms including fever and flu-like symptoms

2. Keep 1.5 metres distance from others

3. Maintain appropriate personal hygiene practices (especially covering coughs and sneezes)

4. There are a maximum of 15 attendees for each event.

5. A COVID marshal will be present.

Hot/Inclement Weather Policy

Tours will be postponed if the predicted forecast for Adelaide is 36 degrees or above by 5:00 pm on the Monday beforehand as per www.bom.gov.au. Postponement will occur if other extreme weather is most likely to take place - storm, lightning/wind/heavy rain etc.
