Options abound for people of all ages to play in the East Park Lands. Wander with friends, family or Fido – take advantage of the exercise facilities in the open air or stop for a coffee or bite to eat. During festival season experience the transformation to a bohemian wonderland or get your heart pumping watching one of the world class sporting events here.

Well known for its magical tranformation in summer each year during the Adelaide Fringe festival and enjoyed by thousands of visitors of every age. For the rest of the year, take a moment for yourself in the "Peace and Friendship" formal garden or take time to reflect at the First World War Light Horse and Austrlian Armoured Corps memorials.

With its proximity to the East End district, this is a popular place for people to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Many visitors with children head straight for the playground and Rymill Lake to watch the ducks. You may also find yourself visiting during a major Adelaide event, as the park hosts the Adelaide Fringe festival, Superloop Adelaide 500 and Santos Tour Down Under.

Get outside and make use of the sports fields, basketball courts or temporary skate park. If you've got little ones they will be pleased to spend time at the Glover East playground or explore Botanic Creek. You may also find yourself here if you're attending one of Adelaide's major events as the park is host to the Santos Tour Down Under, Superloop Adelaide 500 and the International equestrian event.

Work out, walk your dog or ride your bike, there's lots of space in the largest Park Lands site. Bring your bike and cycle the 1.3km Criterium Track or arrive equipment free and walk/run on the tracks stopping at the exercise stations along your route. If it's fido who needs the exercise, make use of the off-leash area. Refresh at Velo Café below the heritage-listed grandstand or try the Velo-spin area, a high-tech indoor training studio. This can be a busy park so it's worth checking for booked activities beofre arriving to avoid disappointment.
