The Santos Tour Down Under is the biggest cycling race and the largest Festival of Cycling in the southern hemisphere. The 11-day event brings professional cycling teams to race on the streets of Adelaide and regional South Australia each January.

A range of events take place across South Australia during the tour, including mass-participation rides for kids and adults, street parties, formal dinners and the City of Adelaide Tour Village in Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga. The Tour Village is the home base for cycling teams and open to the public. There’s something for everyone to enjoy at the village with food, drinks, entertainment and the latest cycling gear on offer.

Tour Down Under spectator numbers have risen each year, with 810,000 people lining the roads throughout the city street circuits and regional stages in 2018.

Be sure to secure your place along cycling routes early, as team support crews entertain the crowds with music and giveaways. Flags, hats, cowbells and more are handed out to cheer on riders adding to the race atmosphere, which is captured live and aired to audiences worldwide.

The City of Adelaide is proud to be a premier partner of The Santos Tour Down Under.
