The state-wide Tasting Australia festival is the year’s largest and most delicious showcase of South Australian produce and culinary talent. The 10-day program includes everything from to exclusive degustation’s to the bustling Town Square food hub. With the growing global foodie trend, it’s no surprise that the program of events draws a crowd of upwards of 57,000 local, interstate and international guests.

The Town Square in Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga becomes the city’s to-go to gourmet food hall, offering something to match every palette and price point. The now iconic festival glasshouses boast a regular roster of dinners prepared by Michelin star chefs and the largest names in the culinary world.

While the festival welcomes a international cast, the focus us always on South Australian food and wine. The home-grown festival directors, powerhouses like Jock Zonfrillo, are spot-on with their curation of South Australia’s up-and-coming and established names.

The festival started in 1997 as a bi-annual event but followed the trend of many other Adelaide festivals by switching to become an annual fixture on the festival calendar.

The City of Adelaide is a proud supporter of Tasting Australia and Adelaide’s culinary community.
