The purpose of the Adelaide Festival of Ideas is to celebrate the life of the mind, particularly the public value of ideas, thinking and innovation as foundations of civil society, an informed democracy and a robust economy.

Held biennially over four days in July and next held in 2020, the festival brings some of the world’s most thought-provoking speakers to the stage, covering a diverse range topic from science to theology and more!

The broad program includes talks, panel sessions, workshops and various special events, including dinners and lunches. The festival is held in venues in Adelaide’s West End research precinct, with most sessions free to attend.

Come together and stake your claim in addressing the urgent issues of our times, the Adelaide Festival of Ideas is a platform and incubator for citizens to shape the world of tomorrow.
