Yerrakartarta

Darryl Pfitzner Milikia, Muriel Van Der Byl, Stephen Bowers, Jo Crawford and Jo Fraser
This artwork is hidden amongst the InterContinental Hotel grounds, Yerrakartarta is the Kaurna word for 'at random' or 'without design.' Darryl Pfitzner Milikia and his team of artists comment on the randomness of the natural world using a variety of different Aboriginal symbolism and three-dimensional media. The ceramic techniques create an impression of fossil forms on the pavement. This multi-faceted sculpture and mural represent the land's history and casts a contemporary depiction of the Dreaming story of Tjillbruke which talks about creation, the law and human relationships.
