Sword in the Stone

Andrew Stock

Located on the south western end of the City’s fringe the Princess Elizabeth Playspace integrates natural park land aspects with the state heritage listed shelter shed and original 1929 design elements of the central path including the division of the playspace into two activity areas, with contemporary active, cognitive, sensory, passive and creative play opportunities. The Sword in the Stone artwork captures the imagination of young or old as you try to become the mythological King Arthur by attempting to remove the sword.

This artwork was commissioned by the City of Adelaide for the upgrade of Princess Elizabeth Playground.
