The Produce Lane Initiative provides artists with a flexible public art platform to create illuminated art images in the West End and forms part of the Hindley Street Improvement Plan. Utilising Lightboxes and Gobo Projector lighting, it has been developed in partnership with TAFE SA, and the Adelaide College of the Arts. This initiative creates an annually changing public art attraction for the City and a unique identity for one of the lesser-known laneways linking to Hindley Street.

The inaugural artwork presented is by Lee Walter, an emerging South Australian visual artist, working primarily in photography and installation. Since graduating in 2015 from Adelaide College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Visual Arts & Design, Lee has been consistently exhibiting and developing her arts practice. Recently Lee completed an artist residency for SALA and The Centre for Creative Health at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, for which she received the SALA Atkins Pro Lab Photographic award. A selection of works from her series, Fragment, are being presented as part the Produce Lane Initiative. These were created as an outcome of her residency at the Royal Adelaide Hospital where her artwork “was guided by my conversations and cherished interaction with patients and families living with dementia.”

The artwork is currently viewable, with nightly viewing hours from 6:00 pm to 4:00 am. The Lightboxes are also viewable during daylight hours.
