Drift…

George Popperwell

Popperwell’s Drift is situated along the Festival Centre walkway along the River Torrens/ Karrawirra Pari. The work itself is based on an oversized game of boules. The silver boules are caged forms in a framework of looping steel. Etched upon their surface are messages that speak of humanity, of life’s existence. The boule’s are the size of a human and suggest that humans are entangled in a similar game.
