Best vantage points to enjoy New Year's Eve

The City of Adelaide’s free New Year’s Eve party in Elder Park and on the Riverbank will be the place to celebrate with family and friends in 2019! Expect a jam-packed program of live music, family entertainment and two spectacular HomeStart Fireworks displays.

Here are some of the best vantage points to enjoy all the festivities.

In front of the Festival Centre

The ground directly in front of the Festival Centre, adjacent the River Torrens is slightly raised. This offers a great vantage point for the on-stage entertainment as well as prime viewing for the 9:00 pm and midnight HomeStart Fireworks. There will also be a licensed area, toilets, a water station and a wheelchair accessible viewing platform nearby.

Front and centre stage

See all the action on-stage, up close and personal. With such a great live music line-up, this is the place to park your picnic rug and soak up all the energy of the performances, dance the night away and not to mention enjoy the spectacular HomeStart Fireworks with the stunning reflections off the river.

Cruising on the river

For a unique experience, why not get your friends together and enjoy the festivities from the water.

The Popeye

Elder Park Landing, Elder Park, Adelaide

See Adelaide from the best seat in the house, by cruising along the River Torrens in a heritage icon. The Popeye will be offering special packages for you to enjoy all the festivities from the water. They also hire paddle boats for 30-minute rides, if smaller pedal-powered crafts are your thing.

BBQ Buoys 

Pinky Flat, War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide

BBQ Buoys offer Firework Cruises on New Year’s Eve for 8 to10 passengers. The package includes a 2-hour self-driven cruise on the River Torrens and drinks. You can either bring your own food, cook on the BBQ grill or pre-order a lovely grazing platter.

If you happen to be going to the Big Bash cricket match on New Year’s Eve we have a hot tip on a great place to enjoy the 9:00 pm

If you’d rather get dressed up and enjoy a glamorous a sit-down dinner, then New Year's Eve at the Riverside Restaurant could be just the ticket. Here you can celebrate with a festive 3-course dinner, a decadent dessert buffet and of course, take in the spectacular views of the HomeStart fireworks display along the Riverbank.
