Adelaide is brimming with pubs where you’re so close to the sporting action you can almost hear the roars from the Oval! We’ve covered where to head before, during or after the game for the best deals around town.

North Adelaide

Queen's Head Hotel

117 Kermode Street, North Adelaide

You know a pub is doing something well when its the oldest licensed venue in an original building in the State. Established in 1838, the Pub has maintained its cosy, welcoming vibe with a few sleek updates over the years. 

The Archer Hotel

60 O'Connell Street, North Adelaide

The rumours are true. The Archer is back! Established in 1882, the iconic heritage pub has lived a colourful life including stints as a library, bank and radio station. It reopened its doors recently with a few sleek updates. There are 17 beers on tap for your drinking pleasure and plenty of space for you to pop your feet up. 

The Kentish Hotel

23 Stanley Street, North Adelaide

The Kentish Hotel, located at the eastern end of Stanley Street, is a favourite amongst locals and their furbabies. The gastropub’s menu is inspired from all across the globe with treats like Korean fried chicken wings, gochujang sweet vinegar, peanuts and coriander while also showcasing local produce with soul soothers like Port Lincoln mussels, white wine & tomato broth, parsley and garlic toast.

Wing It Sports Bar

89 King William Street, Adelaide

Wing It is a bar totally dedicated to watching sport. Well watching sport and eating wings. With a decidedly Americana theme – the sports bar is designed for enjoying a brew or two, a batch of chicken wings and watching a game with your mates. 

Chicken wings not your thang? Wing It have also catered for non-meat eaters with a cauliflower variation of the beloved finger-licking fare. NBA, AFL, NFL, soccer, UFC are just a handful of the sports you can expect on the big screen TVs. It’s literally a sports lover’s dream.

West End

The Cumberland Arms

205 Waymouth Street, Adelaide

Formerly known as the Cumberland Arms, this iconic West End pub has changed more than its name over the last few years. The pub has gone through a total renovation coming out the other end a more sleek and sophisticated space to spend some downtime. Proud to claim the title of the CBDs largest beer garden they also feature a big screen which shows sport, sport and more sport.

With regular weekend drink specials such as $6 base spirits and their daily $20 burger and a pint ‘Hero Deal’ – this could be just the place to settle in for the game.

East End

The Stag Public House

299 Rundle St, Adelaide

Sit in their kitschy sports room and watch games daily while being surrounded by memories of some of Australia's greats. Watch the game being screened from a large projector in the front bar which shows all the big games.

The Havelock

162 Hutt St, Adelaide

Love hanging out with your dog, but want to meet your mates at the bar to watch your team play? The Havelock Hotel, more affectionately known as the Havey, have got you covered. Not only are they a pooch-friendly bar, they now feature a Pup Menu to keep your furry friend satisfied.
